Elliot needs Darlene’s help to hack Vera out of prison.

Darlene decides to download some ready made malware (so Elliot calls her a “script kitty”) and she walks across the prison car park dropping flash drives in the hope someone will pick one up and plug it in to the prison network.

This scene was also filmed at Westchester County Correction, 10 Woods Rd, Valhalla, NY 10595. There’s no StreetView inside the prison but you can see the car park from an overhead view.



This is at the same car park where in S01E06 Elliot realises he doesn't need to hack WPA2 because there's dedicated 4G available.

"Steel Mountain" is first revealed approximately 3:00 minutes into episode 4. Romero (Ron C. Jones) tables some pictures of the data centre and says "There, deep in the Adirondacks. In 145+ acre former limestone mine, 3-ton steel gates, 24/7 armed guards, closed circuit cameras, NOC staffing."

In episode 5, at 04:36, the team arrives at "Steel Mountain" so that Elliot can install a Raspberry Pi behind a thermostat connected to the "Steel Mountain" intranet.

"Steel Mountain" is really "800 Westchester Avenue" an office complex at 800 Westchester Avenue, Rye Brook NY 10573.

Built for General Foods and opened in 1983 the building was eventually purchased by RPW Group in 2004. There's more information about the building at it's own website and at Wikipedia.



According to Google Maps "800 Westchester Avenue" is about 32 miles from the location of Elliot's apartment on E Broadway in New York.

Mobley ( James Rees ), Romero (Ron C. Jones), Mr Robot (Christian Slater) and Elliot (Rami Malek) have arrived at the entry to Steel Mountain.

At 04:36 Elliot narrates "We're trying to penetrate a data security facility whose tagline literally is ..." and the camera pulls back to complete his sentence by showing the word "Impenetrable" on a sign at the security gate. Several satellite dishes can be seen along the curbside as the team drives in.

The security gate and "Steel Mountain Corporation Impenetrable" sign are fake but the satellite dishes are real. You can see them at "800 Westchester Avenue" (yes, the real street address is the real name of the facility) which is at 800 Westchester Avenue, Rye Brook NY 10573.




"800 Westchester Avenue" can be entered from Westchester Avenue at one end and Bowman Avenue at the other. The satellite dishes (where Elliot and the team passed through the fake security gate) are just inside the Bowman Avenue entrance.

Tyrell and his wife (Stephanie Corneliussen) are in a limousine on their way to meet with Scott, the prospective CTO, and his wife. Tyrell's wife says "This idiot is making us late", and Tyrell replies, "Then we'll be late, they'll wait".
